Before you write

  • Questions about your own pay: we cannot see your payslip or your employment record, so we cannot say why a particular payment is what it is. Your employer's payroll or HR team can, and they can correct mistakes.
  • Pension questions: NHS Pensions (run by the NHS Business Services Authority) holds your pension record and can give you an official statement.
  • Please do not send your National Insurance number, bank details, payslips or medical information. We do not need them to help.

What happens next

We aim to reply within five working days. Reports of errors in a calculator or guide get priority. If a report is right, we fix it and note the change, as set out in our editorial policy.
