Gross amounts. Statutory Sick Pay is included within NHS sick pay rather than paid on top.
How it is worked out
- 1Entitlement grows with service, from one month on full pay and two on half pay in your first year, up to six months of each after five years.
- 2It works on a rolling 12 months: sickness already taken in the last year is taken off what you have left.
Worth knowing
- In the first year, the half-pay months only start once you have completed four months of service.
- Sick pay normally includes the unsocial hours payments you would have earned had you been at work.
